We are a nation highly obsessed with politics. Politics is what we eat, drink and breathe. It runs into our blood. People of our great nation turn to news channels for entertainment more than the real news. Checkout the shows!!! Starting from government forming to decision making at home, everything is filled with politics. We rarely think of something as 'for all'. Most of our thoughts are based upon what is there for me?
Yes, it's human nature to think and behave for self benefit. But to become a great nation, we must rise above this. The people of great nations on this planet have taught us that, time and again.
We are a nation surprisingly sentimental about things that matter less on a larger prospective. We care about Bollywood and Cricket much more than our neighbors. We worry about celebrities more than our near and dear ones.
We are unable to unite for one single cause. We are not only unable to rise above religion and castes, but have been diving deep into that well which divides us as a nation. Reservation has been used as a political tool to fool people and earn votes.
Pollution, corruption, education, healthcare, infrastructure, employment, etc. are those of many issues which we must be discussing and asking questions about, but we are not. Yes we do discuss them now and then, but they haven't been our main tools for judging a government.
Something is wrong with us, right from the beginning and that may be our upbringing, education or mixture of all, but we are on the verge of failing as a society for sure. What is wrong and what is right is always debatable but only thing I am sure is, if it doesn't fall into the 'nation first' agenda, it's not right.
